The 4th "Chuang Qingchun" China Youth Carbon Neutrality Innovation Competition National Finals Conclude in Yantai, Shandong

To thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and all its plenary sessions, actively and prudently advance carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, and continue to promote high-quality energy development, on September 13, the national finals and award ceremony of the 4th "Chuang Qingchun" China Youth Carbon Neutrality Innovation Competition came to a successful conclusion in Longkou, Yantai, Shandong. The competition was hosted by the China Youth Entrepreneurship and Employment Foundation, China University of Petroleum (Beijing), China National Petroleum Corporation, China Petrochemical Corporation, and China National Offshore Oil Corporation; organized by the Shandong Youth Entrepreneurship Action Guidance Center, Shandong Youth Entrepreneurship and Employment Foundation, and the Communist Youth League Yantai Municipal Committee; and themed "Achieving Dual Carbon Goals: Youth in Action." It brought together youth sci-tech innovation forces from across the country to discuss green development.

The competition featured three tracks: innovation, entrepreneurship, and academic. Since its launch, it attracted 3,225 projects nationwide. After multiple rounds of selection, 177 high-quality projects were shortlisted for the national competition. During the finals, participating teams comprehensively presented their project results through roadshow defenses from dimensions such as technical approaches, market prospects, and social value. National-level awards in each track were announced on site. A number of projects combining technological innovation and industrial application potential stood out, showcasing the innovation vitality and practical ability of young people in the new era in helping achieve the dual carbon goals.

During the event, the 4th "Chuang Qingchun" China Youth Carbon Neutrality Innovation Competition University-Local-Enterprise Cooperation Symposium was held concurrently. Leaders and guests from the competition organization, university representatives, and participating teams visited Shandong Yulong Petrochemical Co., Ltd., Dawn Group Co., Ltd., and Donghai Technology Incubation Industrial Park for field research, going deep into the production frontline to learn about the current development status and technical needs of local petrochemical and new materials industries. All parties held in-depth exchanges on talent cultivation, project cooperation, achievement transformation, school-enterprise collaboration, and other topics, building a solid bridge for youth sci-tech innovation projects to land in Yantai and connect with local industries.

This competition not only built a display and competition platform for young carbon neutrality innovation talents, but also established a full-chain service system of "competition selection + industry matchmaking + landing incubation." By linking local and industrial resources via the competition, it continuously promotes deep integration of industry, academia, and research, discovers and reserves young talent for China's carbon neutrality cause, and injects an endless stream of youthful momentum.
