The 40th Yantai Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition Grandly Concludes

On March 14, the final round of the 40th Yantai Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition successfully concluded at the Youth Science Studio of Yantai Science and Technology Museum. This year’s competition received over 230 entries. Following a preliminary selection, 110 contestants from primary and secondary schools across the city, presenting 77 innovative projects, advanced to the final on-site evaluation and defense stage.

The entries covered a wide range of cutting-edge fields, including artificial intelligence, environmental protection, life sciences, and information technology. The final evaluation process included physical demonstrations of the projects, interactive Q&A sessions between contestants and judges, and judges' suggestions for improvements, comprehensively showcasing the innovation, scientific merit, practicality, and technical completeness of the projects. Through hands-on refinement of their work and idea-expanding discussions during the defense, the participants demonstrated a strong interest in science and solid innovative abilities.

Co-hosted by the Yantai Association for Science and Technology and the Yantai Municipal Bureau of Education, this competition serves as a local selection round for the China Adolescent Science & Technology Innovation Contest, which is included in the Ministry of Education's "White List" of national competitions. It acts as both a "bridge" for outstanding municipal projects to advance to higher-level platforms and a concentrated showcase of the achievements of science education in Yantai's primary and secondary schools. The successful hosting of the competition has fostered an atmosphere throughout the city that values science and encourages innovation, further igniting young people's passion to explore science.
