2025 Aerospace Equipment Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation and Development Conference Kicks Off in Yantai

On the morning of November 29th, the 2025 Aerospace Equipment Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation and Development Conference, themed "Intelligent Manufacturing Leading the Way, Embracing the Future of Aerospace," commenced in Yantai. Over 350 leading experts, scholars, and  enterprise representatives from government, industry, academia, research, and application sectors gathered in the port city for this national-level industry event.

The conference was jointly organized by the People's Government of Fushan District, Yantai, and institutions including Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), with co-hosting by entities such as the Yantai Intelligent Manufacturing Technology and Equipment Innovation Research Center. It served as a high-end exchange and cooperation activity covering the entire aerospace intelligent manufacturing chain. At the opening ceremony, Ma Yushan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, served as the conference chair and delivered a keynote speech. Li Jintao, Member of the Standing Committee of the Yantai Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of Yantai; Wang Jianfu, Chief Economist and Second-Rank Inspector of the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology; and Huang Binghui, Assistant to the President of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, delivered successive addresses. Leading officials from Fushan District delivered thematic presentation focusing on the local industrial foundation, innovation ecosystem, and policy advantages, establishing an efficient communication bridge for deepening multi-party collaboration.

Following this, the Yantai Intelligent Manufacturing Technology and Equipment Innovation Center signed cooperation agreements with seven institutions, including the Shanghai Aerospace Precision Machinery Research Institute of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation and Shandong Kuntai Co., Ltd. The parties will deepen cooperation in areas such as joint research and development of core technologies, localization of scientific research achievements, and joint cultivation of high-end talents, injecting strong momentum into Yantai's aerospace and high-end equipment manufacturing industries.

After the opening ceremony, the keynote report session commenced. Academician Ma Yushan delivered an in-depth presentation titled "Research on Model-driven Intelligent Manufacturing Technology," charting the course for innovation and clarifying the development pathway for the aerospace intelligent manufacturing industry. Subsequently, leading experts in the field, including Chen Zhonggui from the China Academy of Space Technology and Chu Fulei from Tsinghua University, provided professional insights on key topics such as "Intelligent Upgrading of Aerospace Equipment" and "Mechanical Fault Diagnosis and Health Management." In the following agenda, over 20 high-quality thematic seminars will progressively build a knowledge system with both cutting-edge academic depth and practical application value.

The event is reported to last for three days. During this period, participating experts, scholars, and enterprise representatives will engage in in-depth discussions on core issues such as aerospace precision manufacturing processes, research and application of intelligent equipment, and collaborative innovation within the industrial chain. Through various formats including keynote reports and thematic seminars, the conference will facilitate the sharing of cutting-edge technological achievements, analysis of industrial development challenges, and exploration of win-win cooperation pathways. A dedicated industrial park inspection segment has also been arranged to allow participants to gain firsthand experience of the vitality and development potential of the local industry.

The hosting of this conference in Yantai signifies recognition of the city's industrial foundation and serves as a vivid practice of regional development strategy. Yantai, a significant birthplace of China's modern national industry and the first prefecture-level city in northern China with a GDP exceeding one trillion yuan, is currently striding towards its goal of "building a demonstration city for green, low-carbon, and high-quality development and becoming a central city in the Bohai Rim region by 2035." As an important component of Yantai's central urban area, Fushan District has, in recent years, adhered to the strategic positioning of "Establishing the District through Industry, Strengthening the District through Industry, and Revitalizing the District through Opening-up." It has cultivated two pillar industries: automotive components and high-end equipment manufacturing. Industrial tax revenue accounts for over 70% of its total, earning it honors such as "Advanced District for High-Quality Development of County Economy in Shandong Province" and "Strong Industrial District of Shandong Province." Fushan has become a crucial and highly dynamic growth pole within Yantai's industrial landscape. Notably, since last year, Fushan District has prioritized collaboration with the academician team from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics to establish three national-level innovation platforms ("Two Centers, One Base"): the National Intelligent Manufacturing Technology and Equipment Innovation Center, the National Advanced Composite Materials Testing Center, and the National Intelligent Equipment Manufacturing Pilot Verification Base. It is also planning and constructing the NUAA International Innovation and Intelligent Valley. Building upon Yantai's industrial strengths and NUAA's disciplinary expertise, the district aims to establish a full-chain innovation system encompassing "R&D – Pilot Testing – Incubation," achieving precise alignment between national-level scientific research resources and local industrial needs.

In the future, Fushan District will take this conference as an opportunity to continuously deepen strategic-level cooperation with universities, research institutes, and leading enterprises. Closely aligned with the "15th Five-Year Plan," the district will persistently optimize the industrial policy environment, strengthen full-lifecycle service guarantees, and accelerate the formation of an aerospace intelligent manufacturing ecosystem and industrial cluster characterized by intelligence as its core, green development as its foundation, and integration as its feature. This will contribute to China's efforts in building a technologically strong nation and a manufacturing powerhouse.
