From November 15th to 16th, the AI Trainer event of the Shandong Provincial "Skills Revitalizing Shandong" Vocational Skills Competition—New-Generation Information Technology + AI Artificial Intelligence Integration Innovation Vocational Skills Contest was successfully held at Yantai Automotive Engineering Professional College. The competition was jointly organized by the Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Shandong Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, the Communist Youth League of Shandong Province, Shandong Provincial Department of Education, Shandong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, and Shandong Provincial Big Data Bureau.
The opening ceremony took place on the morning of the 15th. Attendees included Liu Meisheng, Director of the Science and Technology Department of the Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology; Li Honglin, Party Leadership Group Member and Deputy Director of the Yantai Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology; Su Guanqun, Secretary-General of the Shandong Artificial Intelligence Association; Li Kongshun, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shandong Internet of Things Association; Xu Hongji, Director of the Communication Engineering Department of the School of Information Science and Engineering at Shandong University, Director of the Advanced Communication and Intelligent Information Processing Research Institute, and Doctoral Supervisor; Qin Guijian, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College; and Ren Qiying, General Manager of Shandong Qingcheng Digital Technology Co., Ltd. The opening ceremony was presided over by Fu Shuangmei, Vice President of the College.
The Shandong Provincial New-Generation Information Technology + AI Artificial Intelligence Integration Innovation Vocational Skills Competition is one of the top ten provincial-level first-category competitions included in the 2025 provincial industry vocational skills competition plan. As a significant event in the field of new-generation information technology and AI artificial intelligence integration innovation in Shandong Province, this competition attracted nearly 50 enterprises, institutions, and universities from across the province. Following preliminary rounds, the top 70 contestants from both the employee group and the student group, in total of 140 finalists, advanced to the finals.
Leveraging its robust educational strength and extensive experience in organizing competitions, the College provided high-standard venue facilities and comprehensive support services for the event. The competition consisted of two main modules: theoretical knowledge assessment and practical operations. The practical segment covered core areas such as deep learning model training and application, as well as large model fine-tuning and application, comprehensively evaluating contestants' integrated abilities in data engineering, model development, deployment, and application. During the competition, participants demonstrated solid technical expertise and strong professional competence, fully showcasing the achievements of Shandong Province in cultivating high-skilled AI talent in artificial intelligence.
