National Online Media Editors Explore Yantai! 2025 Clean Energy Industry Media Tour Kicks Off

On October 28, 2025 – On the occasion of the opening of the 21st (2025) China City Online Media Alliance Joint Meeting and the “Online Media Editors from 100 Cities Explore Yantai” , the "Nuclear Powers the Future, Green Energy Leads the Way – 2025 Yantai Clean Energy Industry Media Tour" was officially launched. Over 30 media editors-in-chief and journalists from national and provincial-level media, nationwide city online media outlets, and energy industry media witnessed this shining moment.
Zuo Yanxin, Second-Level Investigator of the Yantai Cyberspace Affairs Office, stated that every instance of media focus represents both an examination and an empowerment of the city's development. He emphasized that for Yantai, developing clean energy is a strategic choice for breaking through its own limits, reshaping its competitive advantages, and building a more competitive modern, international coastal city. He expressed his hope that during the tour, participants would act as in-depth interpreters of "Yantai Green Energy," keen observers of its "green pulse," and sincere advocates for "win-win future cooperation." He encouraged them to ignite online enthusiasm about Yantai's clean energy industry riding the momentum and accelerating the release of "green momentum," spreading the "Yantai Experience" and "Yantai Solutions" for green, low-carbon, and high-quality development across the nation.
Jiang Rui, Deputy Director of the Yantai Development and Reform Commission, highlighted in his speech that Yantai, aiming to build iconic industrial chains, has continuously improved its clean energy industry chain and expanded its industrial cluster, achieving remarkable results in the construction of its clean energy industry chain. Yantai is comprehensively building a new energy system featuring the coordinated development of "nuclear, wind, solar, hydrogen, energy storage, and LNG." He noted that Yantai has achieved "Eight Firsts": it generated the first kilowatt-hour of nuclear power and the first kilowatt-hour of offshore wind power in Shandong Province; it produced the nation's first kilowatt-hour of electricity from a pile-founded fixed offshore solar project and the world's first kilowatt-hour from a deep-sea floating offshore solar project; it built the nation's first integrated demonstration project of offshore wind power and marine ranch; it constructed the country’s largest coastal photovoltaic and energy storage power station; it put into operation the country's first commercial nuclear heating demonstration project; and it ranks first in Shandong Province for installed clean energy capacity.

Guided by the "Dual Carbon" goals, green transformation represents the prevailing trend of the future. Yantai, born from the sea and prosperous because of it, is now being rejuvenated through green energy. Behind this lies continuous breakthroughs in technological innovation, strong backup from major projects, and the accelerated refinement of the industrial chain. Yantai's clean energy industry is evolving from making "isolated breakthroughs" to engaging in "cluster operations," and from "blooming in isolated points" to bearing "fruit across the entire landscape."
Groundbreaking innovation requires accessible interpretation, and grand narratives need compelling details. This year's China City Online Media Alliance Joint Meeting facilitated discussions on the systematic transformation and innovative development of urban online media, bringing more diverse creative perspectives and a wider dissemination range to this media tour. Over the next two days, the media group will focus on visiting benchmark enterprises and demonstration projects in Yantai's clean energy sectors, such as nuclear power, wind power, photovoltaic, and hydrogen energy. They will comprehensively showcase Yantai's achievements in clean energy industry development, contributing to Yantai's accelerated efforts to build itself into a central city in the Bohai Rim region and a demonstration city for green, low-carbon, and high-quality development.
