From October 23 to 26, the "Qixia Apples, Give 'Em a Taste"—Qixia Apple Promotion Event was held in Shanghai. Guided by the Shandong Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the event was organized by the Yantai Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Qixia Municipal People's Government, and hosted by the Qixia Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Qixia Apple Industry Association, and the "Shangdong High-Quality and Special Agricultural Products" Shanghai Promotion Center. The event adopted a dual-track model of "indoor premium exhibitions + outdoor interactive experiences," allowing Shanghai residents to immerse themselves in the unique charm of Qixia—the core production area of Yantai apples—and paving the way for a new chapter in production and sales collaboration between the two regions.

Sixteen renowned local enterprises and individuals from Qixia, including Bailihao, Boshida, Zhonghui, Baoling, and Zhao Zhongxiang  (the "internet-famous village Party secretary"), participated in the promotion. The event also brought together the "Shangdong High-Quality and Special Agricultural Products" Shanghai Promotion Center, the Shanghai Yantai Chamber of Commerce, Qixia-born entrepreneurs based in Shanghai, large supermarkets, and fresh produce purchasers. Through coordinated efforts between government and enterprises and multi-stakeholder collaboration, an efficient platform for production-sales and brand promotion was established.

At the event, the indoor exhibition area featured brand image displays, fresh fruit and deep-processed product zones, and intangible cultural heritage exhibitions. In the outdoor interactive area, apple giveaways, tastings of processed products, and fun activities ignited enthusiasm among attendees. Fresh apples, apple vinegar, and apple juice were provided free of charge, allowing Shanghai residents to savor the flavor of Qixia while appreciating its cultural heritage. Amid laughter and cheer, their fondness for Qixia apples grew even stronger.

Through this promotion, the “Qixia Apple” regional public brand gained extensive recognition, with the unique quality and advantages of Qixia apples fully showcased.

A series of signed agreements stood out as a highlight of the event: Shandong Bailijia Beverage signed a contract for a 10,000-ton NFC juice production project; Shanghai Jiashi Information signed procurement agreements with seven Qixia enterprises, including Daqi Fruit Industry; Shandong Bailihao Food entered into a product supply agreement with Costco; The "Shangdong High-Quality and Special Agricultural Products" Shanghai Promotion Center reached procurement cooperation agreements with three Qixia companies;Qixia City signed a letter of intent for collaboration with Pinduoduo. These agreements span multiple areas, including fresh fruits, deep-processed products, and e-commerce cooperation, marking the official entry of Qixia apples into a new phase of collaboration with the Yangtze River Delta market.

"As government departments lead us into major national markets to better promote our apples and value-added products, the healthy development of Qixia's apple industry will be significantly boosted," said Zhang Pengyi, Chairman of Boshida Group. He noted that their deep-processing initiatives—ranging from selenium-rich apple vinegar and crisps to apple brandy, apple-scented fragrances, and apple-based skincare items—are driving and elevating local apple sales. "Through this event, we hope to invite all who are interested in apples and related products to visit Qixia, tour the orchards, and taste the apples firsthand."

"Qixia Apples, Give 'Em a Taste" Shanghai Promotion event was not only a showcase of premium fruit but also a cross-regional industrial exchange and a profound cultural dialogue. It further anchors Qixia apples in the high-end Yangtze River Delta market, injecting strong new momentum into income for fruit farmers and industrial upgrading, while offering Shanghai consumers more high-quality, healthy fruit options.
