The Final of the 15th Yantai Reading and Recitation Competition Was Held?

Dazhong Daily, Yantai (Reporter: Yang Xiuping; Correspondent: Lyu Xuan) —On August 2, 2025, the final of the 15th Yantai Reading and Recitation Competition, which also served as the Yantai Division of the 2025 Qilu Cultural Scenario Reading and Creative Competition, was successfully held at Yantai Library. Lasting for three months, the competition covered all 15 districts and county-level cities across the city, attracting over 1,200 participants.
Since its launch, Yantai Library has adhered to high-standard planning and implementation, formulated a scientific competition plan, and adopted a three-level mechanism of “grassroots preliminaries - district/county-level city semi-finals - city-wide final”. All districts and county-level cities responded positively and collaborated closely. Breaking the boundaries of traditional reading and recitation competitions, the competition introduced new forms such as scene plays and scenario-based recitations, moving beyond simple recitation to upgrade immersive, scenario-based reading experiences. It featured three categories of adult, children, and parent-child groups. Focusing on the core essence of Qilu culture, contestants in each group integrated elements including history, culture, figures, allusions, legends, and Yantai’s local culture into their performances. Their vivid performances vividly showcased the millennial resonance of the city’s mountain-sea landscape and the harmonious blend of the urban cultural heritage with the spirit of the times.
After intense competition, first, second, and third prizes were awarded in each category. Among them, two outstanding teams from the adult group will represent Yantai in the 2025 Qilu Cultural Scenario Reading and Creative Competition of Shandong Province. The successful holding of this competition not only provided a stage for citizens passionate about recitation to showcase their talents but also further stimulated public enthusiasm for reading and recitation through the innovative form of scenario-based reading.
