The Final of the 4th Yantai Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Successfully Concluded

Daxiao News Client, June 25, 2025 (YMG All-Media Reporter: Xin Zhaohong, Correspondents: Yu Miao, Guo Jian) – From June 19 to 20, 2025, the final and the award ceremony of the 4th Yantai Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition were successfully held at Shandong Business Institute. Over 500 participants attended the event, including leaders of the United Front Work Departments, vocational education societies, and relevant vocational colleges from various districts and county-level cities, as well as participating contestants and teacher-student representatives. 

Hosting the final of the competition at Shandong Business Institute not only served as a concentrated review of vocational education innovation achievements, but also a grand gathering of unity for consensus-building. Taking this competition as an opportunity, the institute will deepen school-city and inter-school cooperation, continuously optimize the ecosystem of industry-education integration, and call on more outstanding graduates to settle in Yantai, empowering the city’s industrial structure upgrading through innovation and entrepreneurship practices, and injecting youthful momentum into Yantai’s high-quality economic development.

Jointly organized by the United Front Work Department of Yantai Municipal Party Committee, Yantai Federation of Trade Unions, Yantai Municipal Education Bureau, Yantai Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and Yantai Municipal China Vocational Education Association, and undertaken by Shandong Business Institute, the competition themed “Vocational Education Cultivates Craftsmen, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Build Dreams” has attracted over 2,000 teachers and students from 29 colleges and institutions since its launch in March,  2025. After preliminary, semi-final, and final rounds, the Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Planning Competition awarded 3 first prizes, 5 second prizes, and 10 third prizes respectively for higher vocational and secondary vocational groups; the Teachers’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Guidance Competition granted 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, and 3 third prizes per group. Additionally, 32 instructors received “Outstanding Instructor Awards,” and 12 colleges earned “Outstanding Organization Awards.” 

Concurrent with the competition was the “Yantai United Vocational Education Open Class” event, which told the touching story of Jiang Zhaopeng, an outstanding student from Shandong City Service Technician College. When a classmate suffered a sudden myocardial infarction and went into shock on the way to an exam, Jiang resolutely gave up the vocational education college entrance exam and used his learned first-aid skills to save the classmate’s life. The event systematically introduced the institute’s innovative practices in ensuring that education performs its fundamental mission of fostering virtue and focused on analyzing the advanced experience of the “5-minute pre-class” ideological and political education brand, sparking strong resonance among attendees. 

Five participating teams from Shandong Business Institute, totaling over 20 people, entered the final. In the end, the institute won 1 first prize and 1 second prize in the higher vocational teachers’ group, and 1 first prize, 1 second prize, and 1 third prize in the higher vocational students’ group. Four teachers received the title of “Outstanding Instructor Award”, and the institute was awarded the title of “Outstanding Organizing Unit.”

During the competition, an exhibition of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) achievements in vocational education across the city was also held. 19 institutions and colleges including Shandong Business Institute and Yantai Vocational College participated in the exhibition. On-site, a variety of Yantai-characteristic ICH works such as Jiaodong Flower-Shaped Steamed Buns, Yantai paper-cutting, and Lu embroidery were displayed, along with lion dances, Hanfu fashion shows, and etiquette gymnastics performances. An “ICH in Youth” cultural and creative ICH market was also held, attracting nearly 1,000 students to visit and make purchases.

The exhibition area of Shandong Business Institute’s school-running achievements, through text-image introductions, physical displays and other forms, showcased the institute’s fruitful results in specialty construction, talent cultivation, and social services, establishing an interactive platform for exchanges and mutual learning among vocational colleges and institutions.
