The 4th Yantai Forest Culture Week &?2025 Wetland Protection Publicity Week Launch in Laiyang

On April 12, 2025, during the 2025 Laiyang “Blossoms on the Path · Whispers of Pear Blossoms” Flower Appreciation Season, the 4th Yantai Forest Culture Week and 2025 Wetland Protection Publicity Week officially commenced at the Li Xiang Style Travel Zone in Zhaowangzhuang Town, Laiyang City.
Yantai’s Forest Culture Week has been held for four consecutive years, playing a significant role in widely spreading forest culture, promoting ecological civilization concepts, advancing the development of forest culture systems, shaping distinctive Qilu-style forest culture brands, and driving the high-quality development in forestry and grassland undertakings in the new era. This year’s Forest Culture Week is themed “Safeguarding the Ecological Foundation, Innovating Green Development.” At the launch ceremony, relevant municipal and county-level officials delivered their speeches. Subsequently, the event carried out science and technology activities for rural areas, popular science education campaigns, and other activities to put forest culture promotion into concrete actions. Science exhibition boards on forest culture, ancient and famous trees, wild animal and plant protection, forest fire prevention and control knowledge, and pine wood nematode disease were set up at the venue. Forestry experts from both municipal and county levels distributed promotional materials on forestry technologies and achievements to local citizens while providing on-site technical guidance and answering questions. Attendees, including officials and citizens, also visited the pear culture and folk custom exhibition zone of the Laiyang Pear Industry Empowerment Center and the comprehensive exhibition zone of the Pear Industry Development Promotion Center, personally experiencing the fruitful results of promoting forestry industry development and contributing to rural revitalization through forest culture.
The third week of April each year marks the Wetland Protection Publicity Week in Shandong Province, with this year’s theme being “Protecting Wetlands by Laws, Jointly Building a Beautiful Shandong.” Through publicity forms such as setting up exhibition boards, hanging banners, and distributing promotional bags and informational leaflets, the event popularized wetland protection regulations to citizens, publicized the ecological value of wetlands, and the importance of maintaining wetland biodiversity and protecting wild animals, encouraging all sectors of society to care for, love, and participate in wetland protection, and jointly write a new chapter of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. At present, Yantai boasts 13 wetland nature reserves, including Muping Qinshui River Estuary and Laiyang Wulong River. With large wetland areas, diverse types, and rich wetland biodiversity, they have become a beautiful ecological landscape in Yantai.
In the next step, Yantai will take the Forest Culture Week and Wetland Protection Publicity Week activities as a starting point, focus on key tasks of resource protection and development, strive to establish a collaborative model characterized by government leadership, multi-stakeholder participation, and shared development, stimulate the enthusiasm of governments at all levels and social organizations to participate in protection and publicity. This approach will systematically strengthen forest culture and wetland protection systems, advocate the development philosophy of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature, promote green and low-carbon production methods and lifestyles, and forge a new highland for civilizational exchange and mutual learning, ultimately fostering high-quality development of forestry.
