The Launch Ceremony of 2025 National Year of Reading &?World Book Day Series Kickoff in Penglai District, Yantai

Jellyfish News, April 29, 2025 (YMG All-media Reporter: Liu Jin) To further advance the nationwide reading campaign in the new era and foster a strong atmosphere of loving reading, reading high-quality books, and mastering books effectively, the Launch Ceremony of 2025 National Year of Reading & World Book Day Series commenced on April 27, 2025 at the Penglai District New Era Civilization Practice Center, hosted by the Publicity Department of the Penglai District Party Committee and the Penglai District Civilization Office.

With the theme of Scholarly Penglai, Nationwide Reading, the event featured a series of activities, including public welfare promotions, reading initiatives, good book recommendations, and reading sharing sessions. Reading spaces, community cultural academies, and primary and secondary schools collaborated to deepen the concept of nationwide reading and strengthen the urban cultural branding.

At the ceremony, over 30 nationwide reading activities were announced. Themed events, such as Books for Every Household, Hand-in-Hand: Growing Through Shared Reading, Reading in Motion: Toward Beauty, and Silver-Haired Reading Sharing Club, were widely praised by the attending public.

Adopting a hub-and-spoke model?? with ??full urban-rural coverage?? and ??sustained community immersion, the event integrated reading services into citizens’ daily life. Following the launch ceremony, Penglai District will continue to rely on reading spaces, cultural academies, after-school service classrooms, and practice centers (offices, stations) to carry out various nationwide reading activities, injecting lasting cultural momentum into enhancing the brand influence of Scholarly Penglai and contributing to the campaign of National Year of Reading.
