Shandong Business Institute Hosts 2024 Yantai Advertising Innovation and Creativity Competition

Jiaodong Online News (Correspondent: Wei Mingyue) — Recently, the award ceremony for the ?2024 Yantai Advertising Innovation and Creativity Competition was held at Shandong Business Institute. Sun Yulin, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Shandong Business Institute, attended the event. Over 300 participants were present, including leaders and department heads from Yantai municipal authorities, distinguished guests, representatives from the ?Yantai Advertising Association, faculty and students from Yantai-based universities, local advertising enterprises, media representatives, award-winning author representatives, and leaders from outstanding organization units.

In order to further enhance Yantai’s advertising innovation and creativity and contribute to building the city into the City of Design, the School of Art Design of Shandong Business Institute undertook the 2024 Yantai Advertising Innovation and Creativity Competition. With the themes of Boosting Comprehensive Rural Revitalization and Paying Tribute to the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China and The Light of Yantai, the competition set up three sections: the Public Welfare Group, the Brand Group, and the Youth Group. A total of 725 eligible entries were received from 54 universities and colleges, 37 enterprises, 19 media organizations, as well as advertising practitioners and students from primary, middle, and high schools and universities, covering multiple categories, such as graphic design, brand planning, video production, and creative painting. A large number of outstanding advertising works with ideological, artistic, and ornamental qualities were collected, which were highly praised by leaders and experts at all levels.

At the award ceremony, in his speech, Sun Yulin stated that the competition provided a robust platform for the students of colleges and universities in Yantai to showcase their talents, exchange professional knowledge, sharpen their skills, and enhance their friendships. He emphasized that the institute would continue to ?remain committed to aligning with Yantai’s development strategy, cultural characteristics, and cultural image, give play to the advantages of professional clusters, strengthen the characteristics of disciplines, deepen university-local integration, and actively promote the close connection between the education chain, the talent chain, and the entire advertising industry chain. It will further deepen the exchanges and cooperation with units in the advertising innovation research community, industry associations, enterprises, etc., and continuously improve advertising creativity, jointly promoting the innovative development of advertising and providing impetus and support for the development of Yantai's creative industry and regional economic construction.

Feng Chengjun, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Third-Level Researcher of the Yantai Administration for Market Regulation, delivered congratulations on behalf of all organization units to the award-winning participants. He noted that these works focusing on rural revitalization represent a profound exploration and vivid presentation of Yantai’s rich cultural heritage, showcasing the city’s unique charm and vibrant vitality amid its reform and development. Feng also emphasized that taking this competition as a new starting point, efforts should be made to greatly improve advertising creativity and continuously propel the cause of rural revitalization forward.

Zhang Fulong, President of the Yantai Advertising Association, read out the announcement of award-winning works in the 2024 Yantai Advertising Innovation and Creativity Competition. After evaluation by the experts of the competition’s judging committee, 213 award-winning works were selected, including 25 first-prize works, such as Yantai Cool MV and Shanghezi Yangko Dance of Intangible Cultural Heritage on the China Chic trend, 50 second-prize works such as Bloom All the Way and Yantai Green Tea, Famous Tea, 80 third-prize works, such as The Legend of Dahua’s Dream and Premium Fruit Selection, and 58 works of excellence awards, such as Fairyland-like Maritime Charm. Fourteen instructors were awarded the honorary titles of Outstanding Guidance Teacher Prize, and 10 units, including Shandong Business Institute, earned the honorary titles of Outstanding Organization Awards. Leaders at the ceremony presented medals and honorary certificates to the award-winning participants and unit representatives. Additionally, some authors shared their creative experiences of selected outstanding works and provided in-depth insights into the stories and inspirations behind them, which further promoted artistic exchanges and cultural inheritance.

Taking this competition as a new starting point, the School of Art Design at Shandong Business Institute will deepen its practice in advertising creation and promotion, actively explore a four-party collaborative mechanism involving government departments, universities and colleges, industry associations, and enterprises, and build a bridge for the deep integration of industry-university-research collaboration. The institute aims to cultivate interdisciplinary talents with both advertising expertise and cultural literacy, thereby contributing to rural revitalization initiatives and fueling high-quality development in Yantai.
