Jiaodong Dagu is a traditional storytelling art form that originated and remains popular in coastal regions of the Jiaodong Peninsula. Based on records of the early Qing Dynasty performer Liu Xueyi from Rongcheng, this art form dates back approximately 250 years. The accompanying instruments include the drum, clappers, and the sanxian (a three-stringed traditional Chinese instrument).

Jiaodong Dagu holds significant importance in the folk culture of Jiaodong region, serving as an epitome of its rich cultural heritage. Throughout different historical periods, especially during the War of Resistance, it played a significant role and left a profound cultural legacy.
