The Award Ceremony for the 5th Yantai Mayor Cup Industrial Design Competition & the 3rd Batch of Yantai Industrial Design Center was Held.

On the morning of December 7th, the award ceremony for the 5th Yantai Mayor Cup Industrial Design Competition and the 3rd Batch of Yantai Industrial Design Center was grandly held at the Industrial Design Town in Yantai High-tech Zone. This event aimed to commend outstanding industrial design achievements, promote the construction and development of design centers, enhance the brand influence of "Yantai Design", foster a favorable atmosphere that attaches importance to industrial design, and inject new momentum into the city's economic transformation and development.

Since 2019, the "Mayor Cup Industrial Design Competition" has been held for five consecutive years. This year's "Mayor Cup Industrial Design Competition" covered nine major categories and 28 industry sectors. A total of 734 entries were submitted, with 539 entries passing the review, setting new records for both quantity and quality compared to previous years. Through procedures such as preliminary evaluation, re-evaluation, and public announcement, 5 works were awarded gold, 10 received silver, and 15 won bronze; 37 entries were recognized with an excellence award, and 30 received the College Rising Star Award.

At the meeting, plaques were awarded to 55 newly established third-batch Yantai industrial design centers, and appointment letters were presented to the expert representatives of the city's Industrial Design Service Enterprise Expert Group. In recent years, the city's industrial design industry chain has vigorously promoted the gradient development of national, provincial, and municipal industrial design centers, achieving remarkable results. Since the beginning of this year, the city's industrial design sector has added two new national-level innovation platforms, recognized 55 new municipal-level industrial design centers, and cultivated a total of 50 provincial-level or higher industrial design centers, firmly ranking in the first echelon in the province. Recently, IRay Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. was officially announced and recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as a national-level industrial design center in the sixth batch, which is another achievement made by the industrial design industry chain in enterprise cultivation over the past two years.

Currently, Yantai is facing a new round of opportunities for industrial upgrading and transformation. Moving forward, the city's industrial chain will seize the opportunity presented by the "One Conference, One Exhibition, One Competition", namely the World Industrial Design Conference, the China International Design Industry Expo, and the "Mayor Cup Industrial Design Competition", to actively build an innovative design resources platform with Yantai characteristics. This will further drive the transformation and upgrading of enterprises through industrial design, and promote the integration of the manufacturing industry and the design industry.
