Yantai Culture and Tourism Vocational College Achieves Excellent Results in International Competitions

From November 27th to 29th, 2024, the International Grand Final of the Industrial Design Technology category in the BRICS Skills Competition (China Region) was held in Jiangsu Province. Among 58 competitors from vocational colleges nationwide, Sun Bin, a teacher from the Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering Department at Yantai Vocational College of Culture and Tourism, won the first prize (third place).

This competition is an international event with two main categories: Product Digital Design and Product Digital Manufacturing, which are further divided into ten subcategories. The competition focuses on the design principles and creative thinking behind technological products. Competitors from our college thoroughly studied the competition rules, developed innovative training programs to hone key skills, and demonstrated strong professional capabilities and well-rounded qualities, ultimately achieving excellent results.

From November 25th to 28th, the 4th National Industrial Design Vocational Skills Competition for Toy Designers took place in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. Among 49 competitors from vocational colleges across the country, Liu Yun, another teacher from the Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering Department, won the second prize (tenth place).

This competition is a prestigious national event. The Toy Designer competition consists of two parts: a theoretical competition and a practical competition, which includes six major modules. Using smart toys as a medium, competitors apply their professional knowledge in industrial design and manufacturing to conduct product conceptual design, innovative design, reverse design, as well as rapid prototyping and testing analysis. The competitors from our college consistently integrated the competition requirements into their teaching reforms, thoroughly preparing and practicing their skills, which contributed to their outstanding performance and excellent results.
